Tired from riding you roll up, swing off, and lean your wheels against a post. About the time you have your hands full with your helmet and gloves, the bike rolls forward swiveling on the stem and goes down. My mt bike is particularly bad for this. Here’s a clever trick.

I have a sizable dent in the top tube on my Cannondale because my bike fell over at a rest stop during a ride in New York City. I’m pretty confident I could have avoided the problem if I had brakes of some sort that would engage without human assistance.
