Boise Steps Up
Three cycling deaths this summer has Boise area cyclists a bit concerned. Largent tells me he planned to ride in the Ride of Silence on the 6th. And the mayor has adopted the League of American Cyclists’ approach called the 6 E’s in an attempt to prevent further mishap in Boise.–Corrie
Boise, Idaho — Boise’s mayor has come up with a response to three recent cyclist deaths.
Mayor David Bieter and city council have created a bike safety response team.
The team will form and review efforts to promote safety on the roads. It will also explore ways to further educate drivers and cyclists.
The team will use a problem solving model that uses six e’s — engineering, enforcement, education, encouragment, equality and evaluation.
