2011 Cycle Oregon route announced;

If you saw part of Cycle Oregon’s visit to Clarkston in September and decided you’d like to try it, you’ll need to register soon. These things fill up early. Yes, even 2,200 slots will go in a week. This one is on the coast and though Cycle Oregon may never have ridden 90% of this route, Linda and I have with Oregon Bike Ride, a much smaller tour with only 300 riders.

The ride from Cottage Grove to the coast was my favorite until I did Chafe last June. I didn’t care much for the ride on 101 down the coast. It was foggy and had a lot of traffic.

But it was wonderful cycling country.

This year we’ll be doing the Washington version of the Oregon Bicycle Ride and it will be in the Gorge and on the Washington side of the Columbia.

These tours are a week long and take care of everything except the pedalling.–Corrie

Loop route

It’s hard to believe, but the 24th annual week-long bicycle tour will be stopping at host towns never before visited for the ride, and 90% of the route has never been pedaled in the ride’s history.

The ride starts and ends in Sutherlin with overnights stays in Cottage Grove, Reedsport, Bandon, Powers and Riddle.
