Choosing the Right Wrench | Commute by Bike

Support your local gunfighter, er, uh bike shop. Unless you are your own mechanic, and maybe especially if you are your own mechanic, you will need a working relationship with a bike shop.

We have a few shops in the quad cities areas, so you can make use of the following tips. Location may mean traveling a bit here. Key is being able to talk with the mechanic directly. If you can’t do that, find another shop. This doesn’t mean this isn’t a good shop with great mechanics, but it does mean you won’t create that relationship that teaches you about bicycling and the mechanic about you and your riding needs.

Sooner or later, you’re going to need a Wrench.

No, not the piece of metal with the funny end that allows you to loosen parts on your bike which should really stay tightened. This type of Wrench is a guy or gal who has the knowledge to repair and maintain your bike; a bike mechanic.
