The Proper Way to Lock Your Bicycle

I rarely leave my bike for any length of time. I’m a recreational rider more than a transportation cyclist. Still, there are times when I can’t conveniently keep an eye on my bike through a window. I have a cablelock which this article warns you to never depend on. Maybe a couple of small ulocks? Hard to find something to lock to given the size restrictions. Not many actual bike racks in the valley–Corrie

The only line of defense against bike thieves is a bike lock. If you’re going to actively use your bicycle and leave it on the streets, you have to lock it properly. If you lock it, but not the right way, it will get stolen. If you lock it the right way, even still it could get stolen, but at least you tried your best!
